Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Nebojša Jerić made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Nebojša Jerić in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nebojša Jerić made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 16th minute. Ecuador's Agustín Saelices got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Velimir Vizek in the 21st minute of play. In the 24th minute, Velimir Vizek left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Crni Tigrovi fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 30 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nebojša Jerić narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 32 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Velimir Vizek came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 34th minute of the match Crni Tigrovi got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Paško Kukavica ran over to the corner to take the kick. Daniel Zorita was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 35th minute. Ecuador's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Velimir Vizek took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. Velimir Vizek could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 50th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Crni Tigrovi would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
