A nice corner shot did that Hudson Sergipano got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Pedro Manzanares quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Colombia's defense didn't have a chance, in the 11th minute, when Paulo Godoi scored to the left of an out of position Pedro Manzanares, making the score, 1-0. Jorginho Ferreira kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Allan Varela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Allan Varela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 30th minute of play. In the 30th minute, 吴洲坚 hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Allan Varela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 36th minute of the match. In the 38th minute, Palestra do Interior's Evripidis Picoulas seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Evripidis Picoulas the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Palestra do Interior protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Evripidis Picoulas had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Axel Montenegro placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! In the 45th minute Santino Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Allan Varela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herbert Pankowski in the 46th minute of play. Axel Montenegro might have been able to make a better finish in the 48th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Allan Varela. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Axel Montenegro ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Montenegro in the 48th minute of play forced Palestra do Interior's goalkeeper Allan Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abram Sarmiento was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Palestra do Interior's goalkeeper Allan Varela, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Allan Varela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 56th minute of the match. The supporters of Colombia booed when Palestra do Interior was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Palestra do Interior's Allan Varela proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Palestra do Interior from getting a goal against them. If Abram Secada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
