Michel Goiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Bai Jun Chong came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnold Szuper saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnold Szuper made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 17th minute of play. Arnold Szuper showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 20th minute of the match. In the 36th match minute, Szombathely Squirrels was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lukas Arlikevičius to maneuver through the defense. Mexico's Joel Gaona got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arnold Szuper showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luca Rouco in the 41st minute of the match. In the 42nd of the match, Luciano Aued tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Dante Lacasa got in the way and made a wonderful save. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tivadar Demeter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The corner led Szombathely Squirrels's Tivadar Demeter to fire away a dangerous shot which Dante Lacasa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Szombathely Squirrels's József Varga was substituted for Arif Ozan Nefer. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tivadar Demeter to make the kick off. When the match clock showed 58 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Tivadar Demeter sped through Mexico's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. In the 94th minute of the match, Lautaro Mancebo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Arnold Szuper was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Arnold Szuper came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Joel Gaona. But to his dismay, Joel Gaona quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Mexico's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
