Paraguay's Ivan Prats managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Cosimo Avesani in the 44 minute of the game. After 46 minutes, Eraldo Ippoliti mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Valdieri and the Paraguay players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 46 played minutes Valdieri got a freekick which was hit by Eraldo Ippoliti. In the 46th match minute, Paraguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hector Covarrubias to maneuver through the defense.
