Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Axel Tasis scored 0-1 in the 4th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alberto Andreola, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Aaron Alcocer kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. In the 7th minute of the match Eraldo Ippoliti sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benito Sanz skillfully saved the ball. Eliseo Noboa struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Alberto Andreola didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costa Rica. In the 16th minute Edoardo Rinaldi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th minute, Edoardo Rinaldi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Alberto Andreola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Tasis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lautaro Puig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Alberto Andreola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Axel Tasis came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Costa Rica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Axel Tasis couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig got a free kick in the 35th minute. Valdieri's Dennis Berardo shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 35th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Benito Sanz but with some difficulty. In the 39th minute Axel Tasis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberto Andreola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Edoardo Rinaldi tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Lautaro Puig fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Lautaro Puig a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Lautaro Puig hit a great ball. Benito Sanz acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 44th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Dennis Berardo. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Valdieri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dino Saurø didn't get a good kick on the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Lautaro Puig took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alberto Andreola. Alberto Andreola dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. After 57 minutes, Edoardo Rinaldi made it 2-2 with a short kick to the right side. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Valdieri were awarded a corner in the 64th minute after Costa Rica's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Dennis Berardo took the corner. Alberto Andreola was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Axel Tasis showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-3 in the 66 minute of play. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfonso Aloisi in the 69th minute of the match. In the 71st minute, Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-4. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edoardo Rinaldi in the 74th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Valdieri's Anfilogino Di Santo got a free kick in the 74th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Lautaro Puig managed to get in a good position for a shot. Costa Rica's supporters rose to their feet, but Lautaro Puig was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alberto Andreola breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alan Moruga's late challenge caught a Valdieri's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alan Moruga helped the player get up and apologised. In the 78th minute, Alan Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 82 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Axel Tasis. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edoardo Rinaldi in the 84th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Dennis Berardo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Dennis Berardo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 91 minutes of play, Valdieri's Edoardo Rinaldi made it 3-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Costa Rica walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
