Songur Yoran was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Damaso Orlin hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. 38 minutes into the match, Arsenal FC's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Costa came free, but Songur Yoran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 39th minute, Damaso Orlin made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Matthias Löfgren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a free kick in the 45th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tomas Illescas during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Arsenal FC's John Forsberg. But to his dismay, John Forsberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-6. In the 86th minute, Matthias Löfgren ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-7. 89 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Damaso Orlin came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Damaso Orlin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot.
