An unexpectedly hard shot by Cassius Byrne in the 22nd minute of play forced Szombathely Squirrels's goalkeeper Arnold Szuper to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind USA's goalkeeper Marco Day, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 40th minute Edward Mcdonald shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnold Szuper saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Cassius Byrne made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Fabian Brown hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marco Day showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bai Jun Chong in the 55th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tivadar Demeter in the 58th minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 58 minutes, Tivadar Demeter managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Luciano Aued kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Szombathely Squirrels's goalkeeper Arnold Szuper, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 87th minute, Sam Campbell left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The USA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1.
