Bolivia's Alfonso de la Cruz got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mario Fernandino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Filip Rábik made a huge save. 17 minutes into the match, Burning Angels's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredo Ferrant came free, but Filip Rábik reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th minute Alfonso de la Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filip Rábik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mario Fernandino might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Filip Rábik. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mario Fernandino ran back to his position shaking his head. When Eduardo Fontirroig came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Bolivia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eduardo Fontirroig couldn't finish the play. In the 26th minute, Eduardo Fontirroig fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Filip Rábik, passed just outside the right post. Filip Rábik was left in no man's land by his defense there! The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mario Fernandino was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mario Fernandino in the 82nd minute of play forced Burning Angels's goalkeeper Filip Rábik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th minute, Mario Fernandino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Mario Fernandino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 94th minute, Matúš Čaniga fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Camilo Freixa, passed just outside the right post. The supporters of Bolivia booed when Burning Angels was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matúš Hanuščak didn't get a good kick on the ball.
