Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Michal Hojnoš didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 26th minute of play forced Åkeshovs reservlag's goalkeeper Michal Hojnoš to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Björn Gudmundsson got free with Julio Vera in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 32nd minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Michal Hojnoš saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Daniel Zorita's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Michal Hojnoš was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 45th minute of play forced Åkeshovs reservlag's goalkeeper Michal Hojnoš to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Michal Hojnoš showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 61st minute of the match. Michal Hojnoš made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. When Alvar Johnsson fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Åkeshovs reservlag's protests and gave Alvar Johnsson a yellow card for diving instead.
