Bubu Denat could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Pedro Manzanares made a huge save. David Ballester sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Colombia getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Axel Montenegro hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Bubu Denat kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Pedro Manzanares. That made the score 1-0 in the 9 minute of play. Alejandro Verdu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 19 minutes had been played when some careless play by F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Axel Montenegro was slow to take the kick. During this time Colombia's players had a chance to rest. After a rather tough play, F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's Gică Popescu got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Axel Montenegro might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alejandro Verdu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Axel Montenegro ran back to his position shaking his head. F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's Alejandro Verdu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Montenegro in the 25th minute of play. In the 29th minute Abram Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alejandro Verdu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 31 minutes into the game, Bubu Denat recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Pedro Manzanares. Bubu Denat showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. In the 35th minute of the game Gică Popescu made a throw-in which Marino Ramos played forward. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Federico Zanetti in the 38th minute of the match. In the 41st minute Axel Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alejandro Verdu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's goalkeeper Alejandro Verdu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's Alejandro Verdu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santino Seco in the 44th minute of play. The wind increased when Abram Sarmiento made the kick off in the second half. Axel Montenegro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alejandro Verdu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. AMERICAN BARÇA's goalkeeper Alejandro Verdu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Axel Montenegro. If Axel Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Neal Messer kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. The supporters of Colombia booed when F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Neal Messer didn't get a good kick on the ball. 96 minutes into the match, Colombia's Abram Secada sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alejandro Verdu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Colombia for a fine match.
