An unexpectedly hard shot by Guido Vissenaeken in the 4th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Guido Vissenaeken came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Brugge United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guido Vissenaeken couldn't finish the play. 11 minutes into the match, Guido Vissenaeken had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pedro Manzanares. Colombia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Guido Vissenaeken was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 15th minute, Axel Montenegro reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Vítor Baia. The goal made the score 1-1. Brugge United's Vítor Baia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abram Sarmiento in the 21st minute of play. Vítor Baia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Abram Sarmiento went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ümit Karan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 34 played minutes Brugge United got a freekick which was hit by Percy da Fonseca. In the 34th minute, Axel Montenegro fired a really elegant long shot, but Vítor Baia threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. 35 minutes into the match, Kevin Mastache had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vítor Baia. Brugge United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kevin Mastache was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kevin Mastache got free with Vítor Baia in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Brugge United getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Herbert Pietrowicz hit a great ball. Guido Vissenaeken fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Manzanares having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

Brugge United's Arnauld Van Impe was substituted for Guido Vissenaeken. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Abram Sarmiento made a kick off. In the 56th match minute, Colombia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Navarro to maneuver through the defense. Arnauld Van Impe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Brugge United booed when Colombia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kevin Mastache didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A hard shot 61 in the game by Arnauld Van Impe from a close distance when the talented Pedro Manzanares managed to make a qualified save. Colombia's players were relieved. 63 minutes had been played when some careless play by Colombia's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jaspar Van Den Broeck was slow to take the kick. During this time Brugge United's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Laurențiu Roşculeţ almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Colombia's Pedro Manzanares did a great save. In the 67th match minute, Colombia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pascual Carballar to maneuver through the defense. Pedro Manzanares made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Arnauld Van Impe sent off a good shot on target. In the 69th match minute, Brugge United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandro Gaúcho to maneuver through the defense. Colombia made a substitution. Abram Secada replaced Axel Montenegro. The supporters of Colombia booed when Brugge United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sandro Gaúcho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vítor Baia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pascual Carballar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abram Secada kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. In the 75th minute Abram Secada shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vítor Baia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 75 minutes of play, Colombia's Abram Secada made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vítor Baia was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 81st minute, Pascual Carballar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pedro Manzanares was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Jaspar Van Den Broeck. The crowd rose to their feet as Brugge United's Arnauld Van Impe slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Pedro Manzanares. That made the score 4-2 after 83 minutes of play. 86 minutes into the game, Brugge United's Arnauld Van Impe nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Manzanares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-3. In the 89th minute, Arnauld Van Impe reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Pedro Manzanares. The goal made the score 4-4. Abram Secada blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vítor Baia having to make a save. In the 97th minute Colombia were awarded a corner. Kevin Mastache went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Kevin Mastache got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Vítor Baia quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
