Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Iuri de Andrade started the match with the kick off. Mateo Leguizamo succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 7th playminute. In the 14th minute, Moises Fernandino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 15th match minute, Goiás Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iuri de Andrade to maneuver through the defense. After 19 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for El Salvador! El Salvador's Abram Luque got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lorenzo Yepes's late challenge caught a Goiás Esporte Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lorenzo Yepes helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Lorenzo Yepes hit a great ball. Kiko Rosado acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 31st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Mateo Leguizamo. After 42 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Moises Fernandino. When Abram Luque came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the El Salvador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abram Luque couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Moises Fernandino made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Abram Luque managed to get in a good position for a shot. El Salvador's supporters rose to their feet, but Abram Luque was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kiko Rosado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Juarês Aguiar charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juarês Aguiar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Goiás Esporte Clube's Juarês Aguiar got a free kick in the 55th minute. A hard and well directed shot from Marco Tamayo led 57 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Goiás Esporte Clube's Kiko Rosado became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 2-0. Kiko Rosado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Moises Fernandino's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. Abram Luque hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Clóvis Correia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Ricardo Zorita made a huge save. El Salvador's Moises Fernandino got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Goiás Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Kiko Rosado, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ricardo Zorita made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bebeto Cerezo in the 88th minute. Ricardo Zorita was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Iuri de Andrade showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 91 minute of play. Moises Fernandino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Goiás Esporte Clube's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
