Lipochσrion FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. In the 6th match minute, Lipochσrion FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christoforos Triantafyllou to maneuver through the defense. 8 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dimitris Pirtsos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dimitris Pirtsos having to interfere. Dimitris Pirtsos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Luis Andino made in the 15th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Camilo Gisbert however managed to control. Dimitris Pirtsos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 29th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 31 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dimitris Pirtsos was left in no man's land by his defense there! Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dimitris Pirtsos came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. Timos Stavrinoudakis's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Timos Stavrinoudakis helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Lipochσrion FC getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Timos Stavrinoudakis hit a great ball. In the 48th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dimitris Pirtsos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Vassilis Mavrofridis made the kick off in the second half. Luis Andino might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dimitris Pirtsos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luis Andino ran back to his position shaking his head. Paraskevas Chronis got his second yellow card in the match during the 56th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Lipochσrion FC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Paraskevas Chronis hit a great ball. Cristian Sancho was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 57th minute. Ecuador's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Dimitris Pirtsos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 59th minute. Felix Montenegro succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-6 in the 61st playminute. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Lipochσrion FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Timos Stavrinoudakis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dimitris Pirtsos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. Lipochσrion FC's Dimitris Pirtsos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 67th minute of play. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Giorgos Aggelopoulos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. Luis Andino took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dimitris Pirtsos. Dimitris Pirtsos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-7. Vassilis Mavrofridis hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Dimitris Pirtsos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dimitris Pirtsos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-8 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Lipochσrion FC's Giorgos Aggelopoulos got a free kick in the 92nd minute. After some careless play in the Lipochσrion FC defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dimitris Pirtsos. The Lipochσrion FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dimitris Pirtsos should have stopped the shot. In the 96th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Zorita to maneuver through the defense.
