Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Oakham's Jerry Soon started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bryan Hui took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 10 minutes into the match, Oakham's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Bryan Hui reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bryan Hui showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Oakham's Bryan Hui played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Facundo Cadaval in the 18th minute of play. In the 20th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Oakham's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. Alberto Tafalla was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. 25 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Jerry Soon came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 30 minutes into the game, Alberto Tafalla was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mexico's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Oakham the free kick. In the 33rd minute, Oakham's Bineesh Soon seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Bineesh Soon the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Oakham protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Bineesh Soon had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 33rd minute of the game. One of Oakham:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mexico:s goal. Asiz Rajah received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dante Lacasa came out and tried to block the shot, but Asiz Rajah slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 38th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luca Zorita in the 44th minute of play forced Oakham's goalkeeper Bryan Hui to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bryan Hui showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Gaona to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Mexico's corner Joel Gaona fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Bryan Hui quite easily take care of the ball. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Asiz Rajah in the 59th minute of the match. In the 61st minute of the match, Joel Gaona tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Bryan Hui saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Oakham's Mark Koh in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Oakham's Gara Hock was substituted for Mark Koh. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wong Butcher in the 74th minute of play. Bryan Hui took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gara Hock in the 83rd minute of play. In the 86th minute, Alberto Tafalla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Oakham's Bryan Hui got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 93th minute after Oakham's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. The corner ended in Joel Gaona almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Oakham's Bryan Hui did a great save. Lautaro Mancebo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bryan Hui having to make a save. Khai Amin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Many of Mexico's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Mexico may have spent more time on the ball, but Oakham were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
