Thiago Pliego stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tory Pryor's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Mariano Lacasa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Lionel Paly tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Francisco Carballar hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. In the 38th minute, Tory Pryor left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Wil 1900 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. 47 minutes into the game, Chile's Mariano Lacasa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lionel Paly made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mariano Lacasa was the one to do the kick off. Curtiz Klein hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Guillermo Fontirroig blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lionel Paly having to make a save. Gerardo Pozo lost his temper 58 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 57th minute, one of Chile:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Chile. Thiago Pliego had in the 59thth minute some difficulties stopping Téo Rosa's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After 59 minutes of play, FC Wil 1900's Téo Rosa made it 4-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Thiago Pliego was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Guillermo Fontirroig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lionel Paly made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orlando Casaus in the 78th minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Pirmin Jäggi came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Chile left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than FC Wil 1900.
