Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 16th minute. After taking down the ball on Mexico's corner Joel Gaona fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Paw Nibelvang quite easily take care of the ball. In the 17thth minute of the game Luca Zorita who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Gamla Stan's Paw Nibelvang was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teddi Suutari in the 19th minute of play. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Héctor Quintero in the 23rd minute of the match. 24 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Michel Torres came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teddi Suutari in the 27th minute of play. Paw Nibelvang made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. In the 30th minute Héctor Quintero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Héctor Quintero in the 31st minute of play. Teddi Suutari struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Dante Lacasa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Gamla Stan. 37 minutes into the match, Joel Gaona dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Paw Nibelvang, 2-1. 40 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Teddi Suutari came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paw Nibelvang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luca Zorita in the 41st minute of play. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teddi Suutari in the 43rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Héctor Quintero in the 46th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Gaona to strike the kick off in the second half. If Teddi Suutari had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. FC Gamla Stan were furious when André Bjørnstjerne was red carded, 53 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 53 minutes into the game, one of FC Gamla Stan:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Mexico a penalty, 55 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Joel Gaona, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of FC Gamla Stan's Paw Nibelvang. 3-1. In the 58th minute, Teddi Suutari hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 59 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Facundo Cadaval. With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Teddi Suutari tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 64th match minute, FC Gamla Stan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Héctor Quintero to maneuver through the defense. Paw Nibelvang showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. 70 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Teddi Suutari. If Michel Torres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paw Nibelvang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 77th minute of play. Joel Gaona might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paw Nibelvang. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joel Gaona ran back to his position shaking his head. FC Gamla Stan made a substitution. Morgan Niby replaced Teddi Suutari. Paw Nibelvang showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 86th minute of the match. In the 97th minute, Alberto Tafalla made a precise shot to the right of Paw Nibelvang. FC Gamla Stan's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-1. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Mexico fully deserved thier win.
