Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cornelio Olayo in the 15th minute of play. Börje Albohm showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 17th minute of the match. In the 17th minute, Lautaro Mancebo made a precise shot to the right of Börje Albohm. Baxters Boys's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Mexico's Alberto Tafalla got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 25 minutes into the match, Baxters Boys's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Börje Albohm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th minute, Joel Gaona ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Börje Albohm was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. In the 29thth minute of the game Cornelio Olayo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mexico's Dante Lacasa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aloísio Lendaa in the 30th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Baxters Boys's Börje Albohm played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luca Rouco in the 37th minute of play. Emanuel Dijmărescu kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. 46 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aloísio Lendaa. 47 minutes into the match, Baxters Boys's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Mancebo came free, but Börje Albohm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Mexico were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aloísio Lendaa was the one to do the kick off. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cornelio Olayo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 56 minutes into the game, Alberto Tafalla was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mexico's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Baxters Boys the free kick. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Mexico booed when Baxters Boys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Johan Bäckman didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Uzay Gencalp's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dante Lacasa was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. Luca Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Börje Albohm having to interfere. In the 94th minute Uzay Gencalp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cornelio Olayo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere.
