The ball went over the crossbar instead. Fevzi Baykara's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thiago Pliego read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. In the 34th minute of the match Śląsk Bytom got a corner. Chile's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sivert Eliasson ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Sivert Eliasson got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Thiago Pliego quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Ulryk Miazga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Thiago Pliego made a huge save. Antoni Brama took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Lacasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fevzi Baykara in the 46th minute of the match. 47 minutes into the match, Śląsk Bytom's Fevzi Baykara sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thiago Pliego narrowly saved just below the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mariano Lacasa made a kick off. In the 50th match minute, Chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Garrido to maneuver through the defense. Fevzi Baykara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 52 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Fevzi Baykara came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kazimierz Ewertowski in the 71st minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 75th minute, Fevzi Baykara made a precise shot to the right of Thiago Pliego. Chile's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Śląsk Bytom's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sivert Eliasson in the 79th minute.
