The crowd rose to their feet as Chile's Mariano Lacasa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of David Ospina. That made the score 1-0 after 28 minutes of play. Mariano Lacasa might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over David Ospina. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. In the 46th minute, Mariano Lacasa reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of David Ospina. The goal made the score 3-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The wind increased when Mariano Lacasa made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 51st minute of play forced León FC's goalkeeper David Ospina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85th minute of the match León FC got a corner. Chile's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Angel Frutos ran over to the corner to take the kick. 89 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of David Ospina. León FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mariano Lacasa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. David Ospina came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by Chile's Mariano Lacasa. But to his dismay, Mariano Lacasa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0.
