When Cazimir Mirciulescu fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Carpathians's protests and gave Cazimir Mirciulescu a yellow card for diving instead. In the 14th match minute, Carpathians was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cazimir Mirciulescu to maneuver through the defense. 16 minutes in the game Pavel Bara did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Ionică Culcer. Raymond Louis succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 19th playminute. In the 26th minute, Jean Marie Alcius hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 33rd minute, Jonathan Alphonse made a precise shot to the right of Ştefan Cînu. Carpathians's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. In the 37th minute, one of Carpathians:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Carpathians. Jonathan Alphonse shot the penalty kick right outside the post. 48 minutes into the game, Ilie Balaci was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Carpathians's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Haiti the free kick. When the match had been going on for 48 minutes, Haiti's Jonathan Alphonse got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Ştefan Cînu.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Iosif Vulcan to make the kick off. Pavel Bara hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. A collision led to Haiti getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Jean Marie Alcius hit a great ball. If Carlos Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ştefan Cînu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonathan Alphonse, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. 78 minutes into the game, Haiti's Jonathan Alphonse nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ştefan Cînu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. In the 82nd minute Jonathan Alphonse shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ştefan Cînu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carpathians's Ştefan Cînu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonathan Alphonse in the 84th minute of play. After having played for 85 minutes, Ernso Constant managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Haiti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ernso Constant was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 87 minutes into the match, Gesner Philippe notched a goal, 6-1, to the right of Carpathians's Ştefan Cînu. Ştefan Cînu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Carpathians's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
