Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) AFC Cherries's Luciano Cuenca started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Christian Backman kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Guto Jacinto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 11th minute of the match. Luciano Cuenca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luciano Cuenca might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luciano Cuenca ran back to his position shaking his head. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 21th minute after AFC Cherries's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. The corner ended in Luis Andino almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but AFC Cherries's Guto Jacinto did a great save. Godfredo Barroso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Guto Jacinto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Luciano Cuenca sent off a good shot on target. In the 39th match minute, AFC Cherries was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Godfredo Barroso to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to AFC Cherries getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Kaj Låsberg hit a great ball. After 43 minutes, Kaj Låsberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AFC Cherries and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. AFC Cherries's Guto Jacinto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 44th minute of play. In the 48th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Daniel Zorita made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that AFC Cherries's Guto Jacinto managed to reach the ball for a save. After 49 minutes AFC Cherries's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. A well done corner resulted in Juan Sebastián Puig drilling the ball in to score 0-1 behind AFC Cherries's goalkeeper.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kaj Låsberg in the 55th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Godfredo Barroso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Godfredo Barroso in the 61st minute of play. In the 62nd minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 65 minutes into the match, AFC Cherries's goalkeeper Guto Jacinto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Guto Jacinto made a huge save. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Guto Jacinto firmly grabbed it by the left post. Radek Rokos hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. The supporters of AFC Cherries booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gisbert didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 84 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Luciano Cuenca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 87th minute Kaj Låsberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 88th minute AFC Cherries were awarded a corner. Benjamin Pabon went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Benjamin Pabon got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Luciano Cuenca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. AFC Cherries's František Jakubec was substituted for Kaj Låsberg. In the 97th match minute, AFC Cherries was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Godfredo Barroso to maneuver through the defense. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Ecuador had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
