Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Hélio Regueira made a huge save. Hélio Regueira was a little too slow when Daniel Zorita got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 41st minute. The score was now 2-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for 于帆鹏 to strike the kick off in the second half. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hélio Regueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 57th minute of play. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 60th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Andino to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Zorita in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hélio Regueira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 64 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Hélio Regueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that 于帆鹏's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 75th minute of the game.
