In the 9th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johnny Banks saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Malmö White Knights's Johnny Banks played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 12th minute of play. Emmanuel Reyes got a throw-in 18 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Milagros Fraga. Roby Baggio received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rolando Noboa came out and tried to block the shot, but Roby Baggio slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 21st minute. 24 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Johnny Banks narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Elvijs Presley could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. Vilhelm Holm made in the 28th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Elvijs Presley however managed to control. 31 minutes had been played when some careless play by Peru's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Evert Taube was slow to take the kick. During this time Malmö White Knights's players had a chance to rest. 33 minutes into the match, Malmö White Knights's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Johnny Banks reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elvijs Presley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Rolando Noboa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elvijs Presley in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rolando Noboa saved Peru from getting behind. Malmö White Knights's Elvijs Presley got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Julian Murillo made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Malmö White Knights's Johnny Banks got control of the ball when Julian Murillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luz Tejedor's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Johnny Banks read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. After 60 played minutes Malmö White Knights got a freekick which was hit by Vilhelm Holm. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roby Baggio, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Malmö White Knights's Johnny Banks proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Malmö White Knights from getting a goal against them. If Roby Baggio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69th minute, Elvijs Presley left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Malmö White Knights fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. 78 minutes had been played when some careless play by Malmö White Knights's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luz Tejedor was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. In the 80th minute of the match Peru got a corner. Malmö White Knights's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. Malmö White Knights's defense didn't have a chance, in the 90th minute, when Rafael Gallo scored to the left of an out of position Johnny Banks, making the score, 2-2. Johnny Banks made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Rafael Gallo sent off a good shot on target.
