The audience was convinced that Cristian Sancho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Emil Caspersson was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Duarte Abreu sent off a good shot on target. 8 minutes into the game, Duarte Abreu recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Julio Vera. Duarte Abreu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 12th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Emil Caspersson was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Emil Caspersson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 16th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Emil Caspersson. Emil Caspersson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luis Andino in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emil Caspersson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 22 minutes SS Palestra Italia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Duarte Abreu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Duarte Abreu in the 32nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrian Bryngelsson in the 33rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emil Caspersson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Emil Caspersson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Galip İlgi was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 47th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Duarte Abreu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Emil Caspersson made a huge save. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Duarte Abreu in the 56th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. In the 77th minute Duarte Abreu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Emil Caspersson in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, SS Palestra Italia's Emil Caspersson got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. SS Palestra Italia's Karl-Åke Dalkvist was substituted for Emílio van Rijswijk. SS Palestra Italia's Sakarias Carlsson was substituted for Maximilian Moberg. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Camilo Gisbert got a free kick in the 90th minute. In the 93rd match minute, SS Palestra Italia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vilgot Haegg to maneuver through the defense. The SS Palestra Italia fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
