Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. Eliseo Mina took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Christof Deroek. Christof Deroek dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Emmanuel Reyes got a throw-in 28 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Milagros Fraga. 30 minutes into the match, Selebi-Phikwe's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Christof Deroek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 30thth minute of the game Julian Murillo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Selebi-Phikwe's Christof Deroek was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Selebi-Phikwe's Christof Deroek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 34th minute of play. Christof Deroek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 36th minute of the match. In the 38th match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emmanuel Reyes to maneuver through the defense. Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Johnathan Bowden sent off a good shot on target. 42 minutes into the match, Johnathan Bowden notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Peru's Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Peru's Eliseo Mina quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Rein Lombaert, made in the 44th minute of the game. Rein Lombaert got a throw-in 47 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Johnathan Bowden. After the first half Peru were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Julian Murillo made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luz Tejedor got free with Christof Deroek in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 59th minute, Johnathan Bowden ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rolando Noboa was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Peru's attentive Eliseo Mina managed to snatch the ball when Rein Lombaert made a throw-in in the 62nd minute of the game. Christof Deroek made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julian Murillo in the 63rd minute. Christof Deroek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseo Mina in the 64th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Julian Murillo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Julian Murillo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christof Deroek breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Peru defense, Johnathan Bowden kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolando Noboa. The Peru fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Noboa should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Selebi-Phikwe's Christof Deroek got control of the ball when Julian Murillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. With an all-out effort, Peru's Christof Deroek threw himself towards the right post 77 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Julian Murillo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Julian Murillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Christof Deroek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Peru booed when Selebi-Phikwe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vlad Tudose didn't get a good kick on the ball. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. In the 81st match minute, Selebi-Phikwe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vlad Tudose to maneuver through the defense. After 84 minutes of play, Selebi-Phikwe's Johnathan Bowden made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rolando Noboa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Selebi-Phikwe's defense didn't have a chance, in the 91st minute, when Rafael Gallo scored to the left of an out of position Christof Deroek, making the score, 4-3. The Selebi-Phikwe support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
