The Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberto Tafalla got free with Orest Illyaschuk in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 46 minutes, Luca Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luca Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Orest Illyaschuk made a huge save.

Arsenal London's Abel Vidal was substituted for Matviy Yaxmanitskyi. In the 75th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it.
