The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isaias Gaitano, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Abel Carballo hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Isaias Gaitano tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mauricio Fonda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Axel Tasis charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Axel Tasis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. CA Boca Jrs MdP's Miguel Gonzales played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Tasis in the 17th minute of play. In the 19th minute, Mauricio Fonda reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Benito Sanz. The goal made the score 1-0. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by CA Boca Jrs MdP's Roberto Aureo. But to his dismay, Roberto Aureo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Isaias Gaitano sent off a good shot on target. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mauricio Fonda in the 26th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Isaias Gaitano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Isaias Gaitano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alan Moruga got a free kick in the 33rd minute. In the 45th minute, CA Boca Jrs MdP's Mauricio Fonda ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

Axel Tasis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Miguel Gonzales tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match clock showed 54 minutes, the score became 5-0 when Isaias Gaitano sped through Costa Rica's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roberto Aureo in the 57th minute of play. In the 59thth minute of the game Roberto Aureo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Eliseo Noboa's late challenge caught a CA Boca Jrs MdP's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eliseo Noboa helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa got a free kick in the 60th minute. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Roberto Aureo put it in 6-0 from a short distance just to the right of Benito Sanz. 67 minutes into the match, CA Boca Jrs MdP's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Noboa came free, but Miguel Gonzales reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 73 minutes, the score became 7-0 when Isaias Gaitano sped through Costa Rica's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roberto Aureo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A wasted opportunity for CA Boca Jrs MdP. 88 minutes into the game, Isaias Gaitano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 9-0. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roberto Aureo in the 96th minute of the match. CA Boca Jrs MdP's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
