Zäfär Güläliyev was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 27 minutes into the match, Los up up's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Zäfär Güläliyev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zäfär Güläliyev. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bren McPhil got free with Julio Vera in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 43rd minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Los up up's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Felix Montenegro ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Ecuador's Felix Montenegro to fire away a dangerous shot which Zäfär Güläliyev despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After a rather tough play, Los up up's Facundo Tramp got a free kick in the 45th minute. In the 46th minute of the match Felix Montenegro sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zäfär Güläliyev skillfully saved the ball.

Cristian Sancho's late challenge caught a Los up up's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristian Sancho helped the player get up and apologised. Cristian Sancho hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. 55 minutes had been played when some careless play by Los up up's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Felix Montenegro was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yusuf Altunova in the 63rd minute of play. After having played for 64 minutes, Rigoberto Abeitia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los up up's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rigoberto Abeitia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices got a free kick in the 65th minute. In the 68th minute, Felix Montes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Yusuf Altunova's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Yusuf Altunova in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yusuf Altunova in the 95th minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Los up up.
