Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Prospero Goizeder having to interfere. Basilio Picardo might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Basilio Picardo ran back to his position shaking his head. Venezuela's defense didn't have a chance, in the 25th minute, when 史宽鸿 scored to the left of an out of position Jonathan Ferrant, making the score, 1-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Basilio Picardo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 2-0 in the 28 minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 史宽鸿, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. 34 minutes into the game, Basilio Picardo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. Basilio Picardo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Basilio Picardo got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 47th minute, Basilio Picardo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

After 50 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from 沈源渊 went, in the 51st minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Prospero Goizeder read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play.
