In the 6th minute, 唐桑镇 got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 9 minutes, Frane Ležaić managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 香港荃湾区犀鸟代表队's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frane Ležaić was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, 香港荃湾区犀鸟代表队's 温洲皓 got a free kick in the 11th minute. 唐桑镇 received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match clock showed 17 minutes, the score became 1-0 when 唐桑镇 sped through Costa Rica's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. 22 minutes into the game, 香港荃湾区犀鸟代表队's 唐桑镇 nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. 香港荃湾区犀鸟代表队's 温洲皓 got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 30 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Eliseo Noboa. 陶兴邦 hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Eliseo Noboa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without 方天坚 having to interfere. A hard shot 36 in the game by 温洲皓 from a close distance when the talented Benito Sanz managed to make a qualified save. Costa Rica's players were relieved. Frane Ležaić hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. 39 minutes into the game, Eliseo Noboa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. 方天坚 was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 唐桑镇 blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benito Sanz having to make a save. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when 香港荃湾区犀鸟代表队 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. 傅克鹏 didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 48th minute, Lautaro Puig got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when 唐桑镇 stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alan Moruga got a free kick in the 57th minute. 温洲皓 recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lautaro Puig might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over 方天坚. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lautaro Puig ran back to his position shaking his head. After 63 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. 温洲皓 sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 66thth minute of the game 温洲皓 who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Tasis in the 67th minute of play forced 香港荃湾区犀鸟代表队's goalkeeper 方天坚 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Juan Rubio fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Juan Rubio a yellow card for diving instead. In the 75th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Rubio to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, 温洲皓 stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and 温洲皓 tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 温洲皓 recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 79 minutes into the match, 唐桑镇 had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that 唐桑镇 was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 唐桑镇 in the 82nd minute of play. After 84 played minutes 香港荃湾区犀鸟代表队 got a freekick which was hit by 温洲皓. 88 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when 唐桑镇 came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, 温洲皓 managed to get in a good position for a shot. 香港荃湾区犀鸟代表队's supporters rose to their feet, but 温洲皓 was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 96th minute, 唐桑镇 got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
