Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Axel Tasis started the match with the kick off. The ESKİŞEHİRSPOR fans' excitement grew in the 4th match minute when ESKİŞEHİRSPOR's Alican Sungurbay looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Alan Moruga kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Efrain Moruga hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Alexander Carballo kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Erkan Başok took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 20th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 21 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Alican Sungurbay came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rd match minute, ESKİŞEHİRSPOR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by İnanç Asutay to maneuver through the defense. 24 minutes into the match, ESKİŞEHİRSPOR's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Noboa came free, but Okan Akdoğan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 25 minutes, Lautaro Puig mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the ESKİŞEHİRSPOR players grew even worse after the yellow card. Kubat Hazer charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kubat Hazer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Costa Rica's Alfredo Zoido was substituted for Lautaro Puig. In the 32nd minute, Kubat Hazer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aaron Alcocer's late challenge caught a ESKİŞEHİRSPOR's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aaron Alcocer helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Aaron Alcocer hit a great ball. After 35 minutes of play, ESKİŞEHİRSPOR's Alican Sungurbay made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Eliseo Noboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Axel Tasis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Costa Rica's supporters rose to their feet, but Axel Tasis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Okan Akdoğan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alican Sungurbay took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raik Özdener, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 54th minute, Alan Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Okan Akdoğan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Axel Tasis's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 64 minutes into the game, when Alexander Carballo put in a rough tackle. In the 66th minute Erkan Başok shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benito Sanz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Abdulvahit Tunç showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-6 in the 76 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alan Moruga got a free kick in the 78th minute. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. Benito Sanz didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 81st minute, which inside left pole to 0-7. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alican Sungurbay in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. 86 minutes into the match, Alican Sungurbay dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Benito Sanz, 0-8. ESKİŞEHİRSPOR's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
