An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 6th minute of play forced FC Shifen III's goalkeeper Georg Godholm to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacinto Cesario in the 10th minute of the match. The supporters of FC Shifen III booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Facundo Cadaval didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Melker Jokiranta, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. After having played for 24 minutes, Alberto Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto Tafalla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Martin Fossum received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jacinto Cesario got free with Dante Lacasa in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Jacinto Cesario sent off a good shot on target.

Dante Lacasa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Melker Jokiranta went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. FC Shifen III were victorious despite being under pressure from Mexico for much of the match.
