An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 12th minute of play forced AXi's goalkeeper Konstantin Dobrinski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aygün Akıncıbeyoğlu got free with Julio Vera in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Aygün Akıncıbeyoğlu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. When the match clock showed 26 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Aygün Akıncıbeyoğlu sped through Ecuador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Vera. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victorino Diaz Montero, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. After having played for 75 minutes, Victorino Diaz Montero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AXi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Victorino Diaz Montero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 77 minutes into the match, AXi's goalkeeper Konstantin Dobrinski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. In the 78th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. AXi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. A collision led to AXi getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Martin Villascuerna hit a great ball. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
