Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Armando Santotis got the match started through his kick off. In the 3rd minute, Armando Santotis made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Asier Abello kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. After 8 minutes, Asier Abello mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sporting Chilcano and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 8th minute, Asier Abello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Agustín Saelices received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Lizardi Montanez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 17th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led to Ecuador's Felix Montes getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Agustín Saelices sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ponciano Gegunde's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ponciano Gegunde helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Sporting Chilcano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ponciano Gegunde didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 24th minute of play forced Sporting Chilcano's goalkeeper Lizardi Montanez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A very nice done corner allowed Luis Andino to score against Lizardi Montanez in Sporting Chilcano's goal. 1-1 after 25 minutes. Lizardi Montanez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustín Saelices in the 28th minute of the match. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Armando Santotis's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. Sporting Chilcano's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Modestio Cañucal in the 31st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 37th minute of play forced Sporting Chilcano's goalkeeper Lizardi Montanez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Armando Santotis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Felix Montes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lizardi Montanez. That made the score 2-2 after 56 minutes of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armando Santotis in the 62nd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Luis Andino kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lizardi Montanez. That made the score 2-3 in the 64 minute of play. Baiarte Cerdeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Sporting Chilcano's goalkeeper Lizardi Montanez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 72nd minute, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-4. After 75 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Agustín Saelices. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Camilo Gisbert got a free kick in the 76th minute. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baiarte Cerdeira, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. 86 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lizardi Montanez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-5. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ponciano Gegunde in the 90th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Armando Santotis in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Ecuador played a much better game than Sporting Chilcano and deserved their victory. The Sporting Chilcano players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
