In the 9thth minute of the game Zachariasz Ptaszek who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zachariasz Ptaszek struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for !HalaMadrid!. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zachariasz Ptaszek in the 14th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Ruperto Santio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luis Andino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ruperto Santio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. !HalaMadrid!'s Zachariasz Ptaszek got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 36 minutes into the game, !HalaMadrid!'s Zachariasz Ptaszek nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Ruperto Santio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felix Montenegro in the 39th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Zachariasz Ptaszek stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Zachariasz Ptaszek tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zachariasz Ptaszek in the 44th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Zachariasz Ptaszek made the kick off in the second half. Loud Deeth kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. 58 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Zachariasz Ptaszek came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 61st minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Zdzislaw Gierlach sent off a good shot on target. !HalaMadrid! made a substitution. Bernd Beike replaced Olaf Soroka. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Cristian Sancho fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ruperto Santio quite easily take care of the ball. The supporters of !HalaMadrid! booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Montenegro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 74 minutes, Zachariasz Ptaszek managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. !HalaMadrid!'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Zachariasz Ptaszek was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 78th minute Agustín Saelices shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruperto Santio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 81st minute, !HalaMadrid!'s Bernd Beike ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Julio Vera. Julio Vera yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. The supporters of !HalaMadrid! booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Montes didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zachariasz Ptaszek in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ruperto Santio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. After 93 played minutes !HalaMadrid! got a freekick which was hit by Zachariasz Ptaszek. The supporters of !HalaMadrid! booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Ecuador lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
