Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Modestio Cañucal in the 24th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Heli Monsalve got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 42 minutes into the match, Sporting Chilcano's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Lizardi Montanez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gilesindo Pastrana made in the 44th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Mexico's Luca Zorita. Sporting Chilcano's Lizardi Montanez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 45th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 52nd minute, Joel Gaona reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Lizardi Montanez. The goal made the score 0-2. Lizardi Montanez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 57th minute of play. Armando Santotis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sporting Chilcano made a substitution. Vladimiro Veguri replaced Kevin Justo. Sporting Chilcano's Jacinto Galguera was substituted for Paul Trielles. In the 63rd minute, Joel Gaona fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 64th minute, Luca Zorita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 73 minutes into the match, Sporting Chilcano's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Lizardi Montanez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute, Modesto Pita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 79 minutes into the match, Alberto Tafalla dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lizardi Montanez, 0-3. Sporting Chilcano's Lizardi Montanez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 87th minute of play. In the 90th minute Luca Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lizardi Montanez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Lorenzo Cazalla got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Macos Graciani hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Mexico played a much better game than Sporting Chilcano and deserved their victory. The Sporting Chilcano players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
