Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Tomas Illescas got the match started through his kick off. The throw-in from Tomas Illescas in the 9th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Canevare's Aldo Pelliccia. 14 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Beppe Mazzocchi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Beppe Mazzocchi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beppe Mazzocchi having to interfere. In the 21st minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 23 minutes into the match, Canevare's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Beppe Mazzocchi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Beppe Mazzocchi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Beppe Mazzocchi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Costa in the 37th minute of the match. Patricio Costa scored 0-1 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Beppe Mazzocchi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 47th minute, Aurelio Morini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fabrizio Antonacci stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Canevare was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberigo Di Giandomenico didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Patricio Costa came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patricio Costa couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alberigo Di Giandomenico during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 59th match minute, Canevare was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberigo Di Giandomenico to maneuver through the defense. Beppe Mazzocchi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. After 66 played minutes Canevare got a freekick which was hit by Achille Contestabile. Aldo Pelliccia hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Tomas Illescas scored 0-2 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Beppe Mazzocchi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 79 played minutes Canevare got a freekick which was hit by Achille Contestabile. When the match clock showed 81 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Tomas Illescas sped through Canevare's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Beppe Mazzocchi. In the 88th minute, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Beppe Mazzocchi. Beppe Mazzocchi yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Venezuela's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
