Mauro Fontanini might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mauro Fontanini ran back to his position shaking his head. With an all-out effort, Centenario Bohemio's Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 28 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Mauro Fontanini, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauro Fontanini in the 29th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristian Sancho in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andres Tavio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 33rd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andres Tavio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Centenario Bohemio's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 38thth minute, when Centenario Bohemio's Matías Donato fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Centenario Bohemio booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gisbert didn't get a good kick on the ball. Severo Maju hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. 44 minutes into the game, Agustín Saelices cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Andres Tavio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Matías Molina fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Centenario Bohemio's protests and gave Matías Molina a yellow card for diving instead. In the 47th match minute, Centenario Bohemio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matías Molina to maneuver through the defense.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Daniel Zorita kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Andres Tavio. That made the score 0-3 in the 52 minute of play. Centenario Bohemio's Andres Tavio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 55th minute of play. Centenario Bohemio's defense didn't have a chance, in the 56th minute, when Cristian Sancho scored to the left of an out of position Andres Tavio, making the score, 0-4. Andres Tavio made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. In the 63rd minute, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Luis Andino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Luis Andino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andres Tavio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 70 minutes into the match, Centenario Bohemio's goalkeeper Andres Tavio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. When Gonzalo Berterame came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Centenario Bohemio fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gonzalo Berterame couldn't finish the play. Centenario Bohemio's Luís Eduardo López was substituted for Matías Donato. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. In the 92nd minute Centenario Bohemio were awarded a corner. Matías Molina went to the cornerflag to take it. 95 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Andres Tavio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-6. Ecuador played a much better game than Centenario Bohemio and deserved their victory. The Centenario Bohemio players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
