GÖZTEPE SK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Orbay Samin's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Orbay Samin helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, GÖZTEPE SK's Orbay Samin got a free kick in the 63rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Rahmi Vala in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Adriano De Lellis kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. A collision led to GÖZTEPE SK getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Uluç Berkman hit a great ball.
