The audience was convinced that Cristian Sancho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eloy Idacio was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. Tom Misaki charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tom Misaki the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Deportivo G⦕⩙⦖ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tom Misaki didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eloy Idacio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 5th minute of play. In the 6th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Felix Montenegro was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Eloy Idacio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Ecuador's Luis Andino got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a free kick in the 11th minute. 15 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Luis Andino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eloy Idacio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 18 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eloy Idacio. Deportivo G⦕⩙⦖'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eloy Idacio having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eloy Idacio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 31st minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eloy Idacio was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. 34 minutes into the match, Deportivo G⦕⩙⦖'s goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Eloy Idacio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felix Montenegro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 40 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eloy Idacio. The wind increased when Damaso Sancho made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Luis Andino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ubaldo Santikurtz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. Deportivo G⦕⩙⦖'s Eloy Idacio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Deportivo G⦕⩙⦖ from getting a goal against them. 76 minutes into the match, Deportivo G⦕⩙⦖'s goalkeeper Eloy Idacio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. Cristian Sancho in the 77thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Eloy Idacio, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 77th minute, Cristian Sancho fired away a shot that was totally unreachable for Eloy Idacio. The ball ended up just outside the left post, and Ecuador's manager could be seen angrily pacing the sidelines. When Adrian Abecia fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Deportivo G⦕⩙⦖'s protests and gave Adrian Abecia a yellow card for diving instead. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 81st play minutes Daniel Zorita shot 0-6, a short shot which went by Eloy Idacio and just under the crossbar into goal. Felix Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eloy Idacio having to interfere. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 92 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho notched a goal, 0-7, to the right of Deportivo G⦕⩙⦖'s Eloy Idacio. Eloy Idacio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 96 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eloy Idacio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-8. The Deportivo G⦕⩙⦖ fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
