When Hıdır Savlet fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ▪︎ɪɴᴄᴇᴘᴛıᴏɴ ᴄɪᴛʏ's protests and gave Hıdır Savlet a yellow card for diving instead. In the 15th minute, Hıdır Savlet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas got a free kick in the 17th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Costa in the 22nd minute of play forced ▪︎ɪɴᴄᴇᴘᴛıᴏɴ ᴄɪᴛʏ's goalkeeper Geir-Inge von Fraunhofen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 24 minutes into the match, Caner Bera had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Caner Bera was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Hıdır Savlet was shown his second yellow card after 33 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 33rd match minute, ▪︎ɪɴᴄᴇᴘᴛıᴏɴ ᴄɪᴛʏ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hıdır Savlet to maneuver through the defense. Caner Bera took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. ▪︎ɪɴᴄᴇᴘᴛıᴏɴ ᴄɪᴛʏ's Abdulkerim Ulağ got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 43rd minute, Mustafa Ali Akasoy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 44 played minutes, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Geir-Inge von Fraunhofen came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Venezuela reached it. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Adnan Öztay made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Caner Bera stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Caner Bera tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 56th minute Caner Bera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Geir-Inge von Fraunhofen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Costa in the 59th minute of play. 60 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Caner Bera. Adnan Öztay recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of ▪︎ɪɴᴄᴇᴘᴛıᴏɴ ᴄɪᴛʏ booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Chicote didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caner Bera in the 80th minute of the match. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Geir-Inge von Fraunhofen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. Adnan Öztay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The ▪︎ɪɴᴄᴇᴘᴛıᴏɴ ᴄɪᴛʏ players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
