After a defensive mix-up in Club Brugge's zone, Tomas Berganza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stein Spoelberch came out of the goal and Tomas Berganza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Panama's Tomas Berganza got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Zhuo Di Yao kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Marcos Cotilla. That made the score 1-0 in the 28 minute of play. Brent Nelleboedske charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Brent Nelleboedske the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Club Brugge getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Brent Nelleboedske hit a great ball. Club Brugge's Stein Spoelberch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Berganza in the 34th minute of play. In the 38th minute Panama were awarded a corner. Abraham Alguacil went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Abraham Alguacil got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Stein Spoelberch quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a defensive mix-up in Club Brugge's zone, Tomas Berganza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stein Spoelberch came out of the goal and Tomas Berganza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. King Eken's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Marcos Cotilla firmly grabbed it by the left post. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The wind increased when 孔磊傲 made the kick off in the second half. A well-hit corner resulted in Zhuo Di Yao heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. When Club Brugge's Zhuo Di Yao in 53 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Marcos Cotilla guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. After 53 minutes, Zhuo Di Yao made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Panama's Marcos Cotilla tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Club Brugge's zone, Abraham Alguacil stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stein Spoelberch came out of the goal and Abraham Alguacil tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Stein Spoelberch was a little too slow when Isidoro Sarmiento got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 58th minute. The score was now 2-1. The supporters of Club Brugge booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matthew Garrido didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from King Eken in the 66th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Panama's Felipe Ros got a free kick in the 67th minute. Abraham Alguacil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 76th minute of the match, Tomas Berganza tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Stein Spoelberch saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Abraham Alguacil's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 78thth minute, Stein Spoelberch skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Club Brugge's Jan-Simon Elsen was substituted for 孔磊傲. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from King Eken in the 83rd minute of the match. With a little luck, Club Brugge's Stein Spoelberch got control of the ball when Abraham Alguacil tried to sneak it across the goal line. Club Brugge's defense didn't have a chance, in the 86th minute, when Tomas Berganza scored to the left of an out of position Stein Spoelberch, making the score, 2-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pieter Van Landewijck in the 89th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Panama defense, Jan-Simon Elsen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcos Cotilla. The Panama fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcos Cotilla should have stopped the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Club Brugge fans cheered their team off the field, for while Panama had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
