Tomas Illescas started the match with the kick off. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Fernando Carvalhal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Kenneth Kvarnström didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Venezuela's Tomas Illescas shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-1 in the ordered_time% minute. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Ivan Vollander tried to sneak it across the goal line. Valter Parve scored 2-1 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Venezuela fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. After 33 played minutes Snett★inåt★bakåt got a freekick which was hit by Yngve Haegg. In the 34th minute, Patricio Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 37th minute, Snett★inåt★bakåt's Fernando Carvalhal ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-2. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Snett★inåt★bakåt was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yngve Haegg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patricio Costa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kenneth Kvarnström having to make a save. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 46th minute, Jonathan Venegas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-2. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fernando Carvalhal made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Ivan Vollander stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Ivan Vollander tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Venezuela fans' excitement grew in the 60th match minute when Venezuela's Tomas Illescas looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Snett★inåt★bakåt's goalkeeper Kenneth Kvarnström, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 68 minutes of play, Snett★inåt★bakåt's Fernando Carvalhal made it 6-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! Yngve Haegg made in the 73rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Ola Britz immediately put the ball in play. Patricio Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Snett★inåt★bakåt's Fernando Carvalhal in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. Kenneth Kvarnström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fernando Carvalhal's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. 89 minutes into the match, Snett★inåt★bakåt's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Costa came free, but Kenneth Kvarnström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. In the 97th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
