FC Draconia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benny Van der Poorten was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cassius Byrne struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Jerome Ngake didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for USA. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benny Hill in the 46th minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. USA's Cassius Byrne couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 48th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for FC Draconia. After the first half USA were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Monty Rogers in the 52nd minute of play forced FC Draconia's goalkeeper Jerome Ngake to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Zach Harrison fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. In the 63rd minute Gregoire Decorte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jerome Ngake made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cassius Byrne in the 66th minute. USA's Sam Campbell was substituted for Cassius Byrne. FC Draconia made a substitution. Adrià Vassaras replaced Joaquin Lekubegi. The FC Draconia fans' excitement grew in the 73rd match minute when FC Draconia's Benny Hill looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 81st minute of the match, Monty Rogers tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jerome Ngake saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Gregoire Decorte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
