Felix Montes kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Alfons Glad took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 13th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montes to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 17th minute of play forced Segmon IF's goalkeeper Alfons Glad to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 17 played minutes Segmon IF got a freekick which was hit by Lars-Erik Lidström. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfons Glad made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 23rd minute of play. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leif Löfdahl, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Felix Montenegro scored 0-1 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alfons Glad, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 36 minutes into the match, Segmon IF's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Alfons Glad reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Hannes Haraldsson fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Segmon IF's protests and gave Hannes Haraldsson a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Segmon IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hannes Haraldsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Segmon IF players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leif Löfdahl made a kick off. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leif Löfdahl, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 58th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alfons Glad was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Joseph Österlund took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 62nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Julio Vera. Ecuador's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leif Löfdahl in the 67th minute of play. Alfons Glad made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. When the match clock showed 73 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Robert Dubiel sped through Ecuador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Vera. After having played for 80 minutes, Robert Dubiel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Segmon IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robert Dubiel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 82 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alfons Glad made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Segmon IF's defense didn't have a chance, in the 85th minute, when Cristian Sancho scored to the left of an out of position Alfons Glad, making the score, 1-4. Segmon IF's Alfons Glad played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 88th minute of play. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Alfons Glad tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leif Löfdahl in the 91st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
