Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Costa Rica's Axel Tasis started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Augusto da Cunha, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. FC LauB's Rutger Danielsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Tasis in the 7th minute of play. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mario Mendez went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Mario Mendez struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC LauB. Pascual Markel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 28 minutes of play, FC LauB's Pascual Markel made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pascual Markel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mario Mendez, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Mario Mendez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. In the 41st minute Andrzej Brysz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Augusto da Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 44 minutes into the match, Mario Mendez notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mario Mendez to make the kick off. An unexpected shot in the 57th minute by Augusto da Cunha got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 0-7 became the score in the 61st minute when Mario Mendez elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Pascual Markel took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-8. After having played for 67 minutes, Mario Mendez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC LauB's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mario Mendez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mario Mendez in the 71st minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. Lautaro Puig's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rutger Danielsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. In the 89th minute, FC LauB's Ander Lepist ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-10. 96 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ander Lepist. When the match was over FC LauB could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Costa Rica throughout the match.
