Estadio Centenario
Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Francisco Seco started the match with the kick off. When English Fire's Sven-Edvin Ahlroth in the 4th minute got a chance for a shot 4th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Uruguay's goalie prevented a goal. Francisco Seco struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Dragoş Puric didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uruguay. In the 6th match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruno Beldad to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, English Fire's Costică Nedelcu got a free kick in the 8th minute. Uruguay's attentive Arturo Carvallo managed to snatch the ball when Cristinel Negulescu made a throw-in in the 14th minute of the game. 17 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Sven-Edvin Ahlroth came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, English Fire's Cristinel Negulescu got a free kick in the 25th minute. Sven-Edvin Ahlroth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Francisco Seco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dragoş Puric having to interfere. In the 29th minute, Cazimir Ciulei got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Joaquin Gayoso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cazimir Ciulei went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Cristinel Negulescu made in the 38th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Uruguay's Arturo Carvallo. Joaquin Gayoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cazimir Ciulei, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 45 minutes into the match, Maximiliano Escribano notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of English Fire's Dragoş Puric. Dragoş Puric was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Uruguay players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. English Fire were winning 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sven-Edvin Ahlroth made a kick off. English Fire's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Costică Nedelcu in the 55th minute. Costică Nedelcu made a great header on English Fire's corner, it was just that Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso managed to reach the ball for a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Francisco Seco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Uruguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Francisco Seco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dragoş Puric breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dragoş Puric showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 64th minute of the match. The supporters of Uruguay booed when English Fire was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Costică Nedelcu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jaime Cazalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jaime Cazalla hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. English Fire were awarded a corner in the 88th minute after Uruguay's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Costică Nedelcu took the corner. Cazimir Ciulei hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. English Fire walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
