The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Julian Murillo put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Yorrick Zoethout. Yorrick Zoethout made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Mina in the 12th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Steven Homan got free with Rolando Noboa in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Peru's defense didn't have a chance, in the 14th minute, when Steven Homan scored to the left of an out of position Rolando Noboa, making the score, 2-1. After having played for 23 minutes, Milagros Fraga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peru's supporters crossed their fingers, but Milagros Fraga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 28th minute of play forced SV Balverliefd's goalkeeper Yorrick Zoethout to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yorrick Zoethout made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Milagros Fraga in the 30th minute of play. 36 minutes into the game, Peru's Julian Murillo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Yorrick Zoethout made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind SV Balverliefd's goalkeeper Yorrick Zoethout, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The SV Balverliefd players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Peru were winning 2-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Steven Homan to strike the kick off in the second half.
