Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edinson Cavani in the 4th minute of play. Johnnie Dobson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 7th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Edinson Cavani kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. 16 minutes into the match, UE Sant Julià's Perry Swanson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Daniel Zorita hit a great ball. Perry Swanson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Johnnie Dobson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 39th minute of the match. Julio Vera was a little too slow when Edinson Cavani got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 41st minute. The score was now 2-0. When Calum Sissons fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored UE Sant Julià's protests and gave Calum Sissons a yellow card for diving instead. Calum Sissons kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Perry Swanson struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for UE Sant Julià. Ke Rong Zhen hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

UE Sant Julià's Johnnie Dobson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save UE Sant Julià from getting a goal against them. Daniel Zoritas short, quick shot in the 53rdth minute got Johnnie Dobson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a rather tough play, UE Sant Julià's Perry Swanson got a free kick in the 56th minute. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of UE Sant Julià booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Antonio Arias kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Perry Swanson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edinson Cavani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. UE Sant Julià were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
