In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind ASD USAC's goalkeeper Francesco Ferraro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Francesco Ferraro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 15th minute of play. Francesco Ferraro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ASD USAC. A collision led to ASD USAC getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Alfonso Cacciatore hit a great ball. Daniel Zorita was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 40th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, ASD USAC's Alfonso Di Vito got a free kick in the 45th minute. The supporters of ASD USAC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dedé Pires stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Francesco Ferraro made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dedé Pires in the 64th minute of play. After 69 played minutes ASD USAC got a freekick which was hit by Alfonso Di Vito. After 74 minutes of play, ASD USAC's Alexander De Lellis made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! Alfonso Di Vito hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. After 83 played minutes, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Francesco Ferraro came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ecuador reached it. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 86th minute Silas Novaes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Francesco Ferraro firmly grabbed it by the left post. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexander De Lellis in the 90th minute of play. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexander De Lellis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ecuador played a much better game than ASD USAC and deserved their victory. The ASD USAC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
